Crown Cleaning:

Clearing out dead wood and problem branches. This type of pruning will maintain the health and longevity of a tree. 

Crown Thinning:

Includes crown cleaning but additional branches are removed that block light and air flow. The result of this type of pruning is a more open canopy with increased sunlight.
